Getting married at the Boone Hall Plantation and Gardens is truly a dream come true. There’s a movie that was filmed there. You may have heard of it… It’s called The Notebook!?!?! As if that isn’t reason enough to love this dreamy venue, it’s also where my favorite celebrity couple got married: Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds! Needless to say, when I was asked to photograph a wedding at the Boone Hall Plantation and Gardens, I was thrilled!
I first met Eric and Brittany when I was photographing her cousin Stephanie’s wedding. In fact, Brittany’s mom was so helpful at Stephanie and Sammy’s wedding that I thought she was the wedding planner! We had so much fun together that day that they asked me to photograph their wedding as well. I love when that happens!
The entire day was like a southern dream come true. Both Eric and Brittany got ready in Charleston. Brittany and her bridesmaids popped champagne on the beach, and Eric and his groomsman took a stroll down King Street in Charleston. For their first look, they arrived separately on the cutest, vintage trolleys to the Boone Hall Plantation Avenue of Oaks.
The Avenue of Oaks is a one mile drive with the most gorgeous, live oak trees lining both sides of the road. These beauties were originally planted as far back as 1743. Boy, do they make for stunning wedding photos! At the first look, Eric couldn’t hold back his tears… and I don’t blame him. It was such a beautiful moment for such a beautiful couple.
The ceremony took place at the serene cotton dock, right at sunset. The reception was so much fun. Everyone danced the night away in celebration of this amazing couple. I know great things are in store for Eric and Brittany and I’m so thankful I got to capture their incredible wedding day!
