Bailey and Trase couldn’t have picked a better place to get married than the Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden. Made up of 110 acres of gardens, it’s one of the most beautiful wedding venues in the Charlotte area. Whether you’re a nature lover or not, the beauty of the grounds will leave you in awe.
We did Bailey and Trase’s portraits inside the green house. The photos of them standing under the arch of air plants are some of my favorite wedding photos to date. So stunning and unique! Bailey’s dress was to die for.
The scene was set for the perfect outdoor ceremony, complete with a live landscape painter and a harpist! And then, something unexpected happened that was a first for me. It started pouring rain in the middle of the ceremony!
Baily and Trase were such good sports though and made the best of it. The “you may now kiss the bride” moment was so romantic in the pouring rain – like a scene right out of The Notebook! Plus, you know what they say. Rain on your wedding day means you’ll have good luck! In some cultures, it’s considered to symbolize fertility and cleansing.
Despite getting rained on, Bailey looked absolutely gorgeous the entire time! I will never forget the huge smile on her and Trase’s faces as they strutted into the reception. And the way he looked at her when they shared their first dance as husband and wife. It was obvious that everyone there was so genuinely happy for them.
From there, the party just got better! I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a new bride and groom dance their hearts out quite like Bailey and Trase. Their family and friends also celebrated like there was no tomorrow. Lots of laughter and fun the entire evening!
