Fort Myers Beach Wedding | Lito + Lisa

Lito & Lisa had a stunning Fort Myers beach wedding in Florida. All their friends and family flew in to witness these two beautiful people tie the knot. I’ve only met Lisa through Skype and lot’s of emails. It was so amazing to finally meet her in person on her wedding day! She is one of the sweetest brides I’ve ever photographed so thoughtful, fun and kind. Even though it felt like it was 100 degrees outside with high humidity, a huge storm hit the Fort Myers area BUT luckily it didn’t rain in the spot where we were while nearby areas got a torrential downpour. The menacing clouds and wind just seemed to pass. Talk about being blessed!

Here is their story.

1. How did you two meet?

The story how we met is totally insane. Our families are from Argentina and Italy, his dad came to the USA and met my uncle who is also from Argentina when he got here and they became best friends for years. My uncle then moved to California but when he comes to visit here in Philly, we used to go to his best friend’s house to visit and then we kind of lost contact after that.. So years later, I start following a guy on Instagram because we have the same similarities and pictures and so liking pictures turned into flirting and then we found out that we both live in Philly and so we decided to meet up and sure enough it’s the same kid who’s dad is best friends with my uncle. So the same kid who’s house we went to visit when my uncle was here but we had no idea! So we think it’s totally crazy how we met and we’ve been together since.

2. Where did you go on your first date?

Our first date was at an Italian restaurant here in philly. It’s funny because Lito had to cancel the first date because his mom was in the hospital and so when I met him, he greeted me with roses for being so nice because he had to cancel our first date.

3. How did he propose?

We’ve dated close to two years and then he proposed. I was totally surprised and couldn’t believe it but I knew he was the person I wanted to marry. Here is our proposal story 🙂 I have always been an animal lover but has never had pets while growing up. Lito thought it would be a good idea as he calls it for me to have a starter pet, or fish.

One evening before we were going to bed, I came upstairs and found a fish tank on the dresser. Of course I didn’t even notice the ring sitting inside the tank or the letters “Marry?” spelled from the pebbles, I of course thought the gift was adorable. Lito kept saying, “Lis, look at what it says!” After two minutes of complete confusion the words and ring became visible and I was in complete shock.

Since Lito is obviously a man of few words he said his favorite thing about me was my “kindness,” he then said that I’m a very sweet and positive person and always puts him in a good mood and make his day a little better.

4. What’s your favorite think about Lito?

My favorite thing about him besides his gorgeous face and hair 😉 is his devotion to his family. He is always willing to do anything for his brothers whether it be helping them in any way he could without complaining. He would be at his mom and dad’s side in the hospital or at home and be there without saying a word. This is what actually made me fall in love with him.

5. How would you describe your wedding day?

I asked Lito how he would describe our wedding day and weirdly enough we both said the exact same thing which is so cheesy but we both said “magical.” We both agreed it was the best day of both of our lives. I cannot even think of anything I would like to change, other than I was so upset when it was over because I couldn’t believe it was over. Our favorite part for sure was the end with the sparklers, at first Lito wasn’t crazy about the idea and then he ended up agreeing with me that that was the best part of the night. We also loved how all of our family was able to be at our wedding. To see our family happy and enjoying a nice vacation with no worries and stress and was almost like a little family reunion, made me just so happy that they were all able to share such a special moment with us.

6. Any advice for future brides?

My advice for brides planning their wedding is don’t stress over the small things. Things have a way of working itself out, at the end, everything will be perfect and beautiful.
