Hotel Domestique, located in Travelers Rest, South Carolina, is nothing short of a wedding photographer’s dream come true. It was the perfect setting for Jake’s and Maggie’s small, intimate celebration. My favorite part was the beautiful courtyard with the most stunning mountain views. The photoswe captured in that spot were gorgeous.
2020 was a difficult year for everyone but, it was especially hard for couples with hopes of getting married. Jake and Maggie planned to have over 200 people in attendance for their May wedding. At the end of the day all they wanted to do is be married. They chose to celebrate each other surrounded by their immediate family. Their friends did, however, have the opportunity to watch via live stream. If 2020 brought us anything, it was a broadened use of technology, right?!
Maggie looked stunning in her mother’s wedding dress. Yes, you read it right. That dress and veil are 47 years old. Maggie found a talented seamstress who modified the dress. Her sweet mom could not hold back her tears the entire time they were getting ready. It makes me emotional just thinking about it!
I think every girl dreams of their groom looking at them the way Jake looks at Maggie. Every gaze was as if no one else was around and nothing else mattered. It made for some pretty special photos, if I do say so myself!
While the year 2020 took a lot of things away from a lot of people, it couldn’t take away love from Jake and Maggie.
It was such an honor to be a small part of their incredible day.
